After 150 years, the “Big Red” flag that flew over South Carolina’s Citadel during the Civil War has finally been returned home to the Charleston-area school!! Way back in November we told you the story of this historic flag and it’s significance to both The Citadel and the state of South Carolina and now we’re happy to reveal that the flag is back home in the Palmetto State after many years in a museum in Iowa! Following a 1,200 mile journey aboard a specially designed climate-controlled 18-wheeler, Big Red will reside at the famed Lowcountry school for the next four years, when it will be returned to the State Historical Society of Iowa. A “big” thanks to our great neighbors to the north in Iowa for allowing us to borrow “Big Red”!!

Good morning Chip Collins:
My name is Vicki Mangus and I am a Realtor here in Ohio with Coldwell Banker King Thompson. I have been handling the company rentals for 13 years. I recently passed my test and am putting my license with Town Square Realty at this time until I can figure out what I can do to get to Hilton Head.
My husband is leasing out a home currently on Sun City furnished but we have been unsuccessful in selling our home here in Ohio in the Columbus area and recently tried to get a loan through VA but witn 2 homes here in Ohio they would not approve us as our debt to ratio is too high.
So plan B is to lease out a home more to our liking now and as you said perfectly we want a 3 bedroom detached home long term rental between the price range of !500 to 2100 per month. We are older and staring to run out of options as far as owning a home now since we lost all our money and only have our income to get is through which so far is ok and we have good credit at least until probably this next 6 months until we see what is going to happen to our 5 year interest only loan. The bank may be getting it back if they will not work with us on it. I currently have it leased out to a very nice family.
So we are looking for a nice rental home and I would be interested in talking to you to see if I could start working with you company on the rentals if you are going to proceed in that direction as well. If I could get established and have an income in Hilton Head then perhaps we would buy a home but we need to for now at least lease one.
Looking forward to hearing from you. I would love to see what you have available for lease now as we are planning on leasing another home for now and also to talk to you about working with you on the rentals.
Thank you for your time.
Vicki Mangus
Hi Vicki,
Thanks for you comment. We do not handle long or short term rentals at Collins Group Realty, however I have passed your info along to our colleague Keith Miller at Miller Long Term Rentals on Hilton Head and he will be in touch shortly. Good luck in your search!
